Over the past several months, WHUT has made technical changes to provide you with improved picture and sound quality and the enhanced features of digital technology. We are now broadcasting many hours in high definition (HD) and expect to increase the volume of HD programming in the months ahead.

Comcast has been a supportive partner of WHUT, working with us over the past year to properly time the introduction of our high definition channel to Comcast customers throughout the region. By waiting several months after the federally mandated DTV Transition to help ease potential confusion, WHUT and Comcast are now able to roll out WHUT HD with very minimal disruption to WHUT viewers. Effective January 28, 2010, Comcast will begin delivering WHUT-32 (PBS) only in a digital format. The channel will remain on Limited Basic service but will require a digital box, digital TV set with built in QAM tuner or cable card for viewing.

If you are a Comcast Customer and currently view WHUT-32 without a digital device please contact Comcast to get the needed equipment upgrade by calling 1-800-COMCAST. In addition, Comcast will be launching WHUT in spectacular High Definition, in new channel locations.
