Howard University is thrilled to announce the 2025 Gwendolyn S. and Colbert I. King Endowed Chair in Public Policy event, A Way Forward. This event promises to be an enlightening dialogue, hosted by the esteemed Michael Steele, Gwendolyn S. and Colbert I. King Chair Endowed Chair in Public Policy.
Michael Steele has a distinguished career in politics and public service. He was the first African American to serve as the chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) from 2009 to 2011. Steele also served as the lieutenant governor of Maryland from 2003 to 2007. His leadership and insights have made significant impacts on public policy and political discourse.
Joining Steele are two remarkable panelists:
Symone Sanders Townsend, a seasoned political strategist and commentator, has made her mark as the national press secretary for Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign. She later served as a senior advisor and chief spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris. Sanders Townsend is known for her dynamic presence and her ability to navigate complex political landscapes.
Alicia Menendez, a television commentator, host, and author, has been a prominent voice in media. She is the author of "The Likeability Trap: How to Break Free and Succeed as You Are". Menendez has hosted various programs on MSNBC and has been a contributing editor at Bustle. Her work focuses on empowering individuals and addressing societal issues.
