Sean Plater, General Manager: “We are thrilled to be honored and nominated at this year’s NETA Public Media Awards. Our core focus is community and content, so to be recognized in both areas says a lot about our growth and overall impact these past two years.”
Angie Ange, Director of Content: “I am so excited for our nominations this year! We have put a lot of effort into increasing our production quality and telling good stories. That’s what it’s all about…telling good stories that people all over the world can connect to or find interest in and I’m happy to bring that to the public media space with our WHUT team and independent producers.”
Keisha Nelson, Education and Outreach Manager: “Exposing our youth to new experiences and bringing families together in fun and safe environments is what drives me to create programs and events like FamFest. This was our first year doing it and bringing it to our home Howard University during homecoming really gave parents in the community the opportunity to expose their kids to the collegiate experience but also connect with WHUT.”
The winners of the 56th Public Media Awards will be announced at the NETA Conference on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Stay tuned for updates and join us in celebrating this incredible achievement!
